WHEREAS certain Public Works, that is to say the construction of the Waipara Contract —Amberley Cook Strait Railway, the Albury Contract — Opawa Branch Extension railway, the Ashburton Contract —Main Line to Upper Ashburton and the Ellesmere Contract —Little River to Akaroa railway are about to be executed. And whereas by " The Public Works Act, 1876," it is amongst other things enacted that claims for compensation, in the case of the Minister for Public Works shall be served by being left at such office in each district as the Minister appoints by public notice. Now I, James Macandrew, the Minister for Public Works, do hereby publicly notify that I appoint the Public Works office, at Christchurch, in the Provincial District of.
