The past week has been remarkably quiet in all respects. Advantage was taken by many farmers of the improvement in the ■weather'to vi.-it town during the week. Business, hay/ever, has not shown much life, and daiisactionshave not been, on the of an'extensive character. Wheat. —The market for this grain, while not active, continues firm, and any first-class samples brought forward by growers rind ready purchasers Jat 3s 9d to 3s 10.1. Fair quality may be quoted at 3s Gdto 3s Bd. Oats. —Feed quality ranges from 2s 5d to 2s 6d ; milling, 2s 7d to 2s Bd. Barley continues in much the same state. Medium quality, the only kind obtainable, is quoted at 4s 6d to ss. Of first class there is none offering. Potatoes. —The sales of potatoes have been more numerous during the week than for. some time, and with the better weather wo are now having, deliveries will be heavier. Values are quoted at 70s. Flour has not varied in price, although business is reported to have improved. Still, until the stocks of Southern flour are reduced in the outside markets, buyers do not feel inclined to respond to the advanced rate. Dairy Produce. —Butter is in moderate supply at lOd ; cheese is quoted at 6d to for first-class, and hams and bacon, in cloth, B^d.
