[Special to the Mail.] Adelaide, July 6. Arrived—Orient, steamer. The Lusitana arrived to-day from Aden with Capetown news to June 10^ Conflicting accounts are afloat regarding the Prince Imperial's death. The official statement is that the Prince, who was in command of a reconnoitring party, dismounted during a melee in a field, and being surprised a general fight ensued. After the enemy had. dispersed, the Prince rode into a deep ravine, where the Zulus where concealed, and was assegaied with two others. Another report is that the Prince's charger was, restive, and .being unable to mount, he was killed on the spot. The body was recovered-WithFseveral stabs in it, and stripped of clothing, but not mutilated. At the funerah service Lord Chelmsford was the chief mourner. The remains were conveyed to Maritzburg, where the troops paraded and the body lay in state. It was then .taken to Simon's Bay, whence the Orontes conveys it to England. Cetewayo's overtures of peace are believed to be insincere. .7 r - Colonel Pearson has [been invalided home. Sir Bartle Frere had returned to Cape Town, where he was enthusiastically received. A large quantity of Commissariat stores have been burnt in Greytown. The Zulu raid into Natal is devoid of foundation. The death of Chord (sic) is without foundation. A portion of the submarine cable has arrived at Burford. The British advance into - Zululand commenced on May 29. It was expected the troops would at once make a dash at Mundi, Cetawayo's chief kraal. Owing to heavy rains, much sickness prevailed amongst the officers and men of the coast column. It is stated that reinforcements have joined Cetawayo, and that the Yesmaning camp was surprised by Zulus on the 29th May. Sydney, July 7. Sailed — Tararua, on Saturday, for Auckland.
