CORN EXCHANGE REPORT.
The following is the report of the Corn Exchange for the week ending Friday evening, June 27 :— All through the week business in the grain trade has been extremely dull. Transactions are almost entirely local. These, considering the depressed state of business and the tightness of the money market, have been fairly good. Wheat.—Very little is offering. Firstclass samples would meet with ready sale. Prime milling is worth 3s 8d to 3a 9d per bu&hel; medium quality, 3s 4d to 3s 6d ; chick, 3s to 38 2d. Oats.—The local demand has been good, 6inall parcels moving off freely at last week's quotations. Heavy milling samples are dull of sale at 2s 8d to 2s 9d. Good feed move off freely ot 2s 6d to 2s 7d. ■ Barley.—A better enquiry has taken place during the week, average malting samples being taken up at 4s 9d to 5s ; feed parcels command 3s to 4s ; firat-class malting, none in the market. Potatoes. —A fair demand has existed all during the week, and parcels are moving off freely at last week's quotations. Prices are the same as last week, £3 10s to £3 15s at country stations within seven miles of Christchurch. Cheese and Butter.--A fairish demand still exists for the former, 6d to 6£d being the figure, at which business is transacted. The latter is in plentiful supply and extremely dull of sale ; holders will not part jmder lOd to lld for prime quality ; in_ ferior is very unsaleable at 3d to 4d per lb 'under these quotations.
