The grain market during the past week has not shown any material alteration. Values of most lines remain about the same, while the actual business passing under review has been confined to transactions based on actual needs. Wheat.—The values of this cereal under the slightly altered feeling shows a small advance on previous rates. First quality is quoted at 3s G|d to 3s 7£d, and good average at 3s sd. Oats.—Feed sainpjes are quoted at 2s 5d to 2s 6d ; milling, 2s Bd. Barley.—Business in this grain has not been of a marked character. Tho enquiry for most kinds still remains at former figures. Flour is quoted at £8 to £9, although some of the millers are asking 20s advance on these rates. Potatoes. —Growers have shown more willingness to sell during last week than lately, while prices have undergone no sensible change, most of the sales reported have been at 65s to 70s. Grass Seed. —Although the demand is still nil, several farmers' lots have been offered within the last few days without leading to business, and at rates more in accordance with buyers' views. Rye grass is quoted at 3s Gd to 4s Gd, but sales even at those prices are difficult to effect. Dairy Produce.—The inquiry for butter has not quickened since our last report, andjprices are quoted.at 10d to lOAd; cheese, 6 J to hams and bacon, 8d in cloth.
