The continued moist weather and the absence of frost hare enabled the farmers to at length make a favourable start with their farming operations, whilst the growth of grass is more like that of spring than could be expected at the commencement of winter. At Addington on Wednesday 5266 sheep and lambs, 128 cattle, 56 pigs were brought forward for the week. Fat Sheep were brought forward in fair supply, and last week's prices were well maintained. The trade seemed more disposed to operate freely, and sales were readily effected at for best, butchers' quality ad out 2d; medium from lid to lfd.
