In the Assembly last night, a motion for adjournment with a view of obtaining a commutation of the sentence on the men found guilty of rape, was negatived. Sailed—Zealandia. (from the lyttelton times.) Sydney, May 20. A Commission has been appointed in London, charged with the care of the collection of the pictures and paintings for the International Exhibition to be held here. Sailed —Wakatipu. May 21. In the Assembly last night, on Mr M'Elhone violently attacking Sir Henry Parkes, both as to his political and private character, the galleries were ordered to be clearod. Melbourne, May 21. Arrived—Ri ngaroom a. The Marquis of Normanby opened the Geelong and Queenscliffe railway to-day. William Pearce, charged with being an accessory of Weiberg, has been arrested. A further sum of £400 has been recovered from Weiberg.
