FINANCE. Cr Penlington read the half-yearly and yearly statements of receipts and expenditure for the period ending March 31. Cr Bridge, without wishing to impute blame to either the Clerk or the Auditors, inasmuch as they had done merely what had always been done, would point out that the statements before them were incomplete. He read the section of the Act bearing on the question, showing that certain statements had been ommitted viz.:—(1) a statement of assets and liabilities and (2) a statement of reserves and other real estate belonging to the Borough. Crs Penlington, Meech, and the Mayor thought the requirements of the Act had been fully complied with. The subject then dropped. WORKS COMMITTEE'S REPORT.
