LITTLE RIVER ROAD BOARD.
Monday, May 5. The usual monthly meeting of this Board was held on the above date, at the office, Kaituna. * Present—All the .members. COrtKESPONDENCE. The following letters were read :— From the Secretary for Public Works, enclosing form for return of receipts and expenditure for the year ending March 31 last, v . \ From they Cpurity jQonncil, enclosing copy'of electoral roll, to be open for inspection at the office until the 15th inst. From the same, requesting list of alterations in the valuation fof the current year. From the Akaroa and Wainui Road Board, in reply, stating that the road on the western elope of Mount Bossu had been contracted for, and was in process of construction. FroA Messrs Wood and Allan relative to a road to their land in Little Kiver trash. •■ ■ . From Mr B. 0. With reference to the petition from residents for road in Little Eiver bush, it having been found that it would pass through some part of a native reserve, it was - referred back in order that Mr Coop might obtain information ; that day labor be employed to cart metal for filling in holes and ruts on the Cbristchurch road in sundry localities ; that notice be given to Mr Charles Doyle, of Tai Tapu, that if his cattle are found crossing the drain on the lower Tai Tapu road, he will be prosecuted without further I notice; that Messrs Wood and Allan be informed that no part of their land is in 1 the LitlleEiver-Eoad District, nevertheless the road will be formed up the flat to the boundary ; that Mr Latter be written toabout the bush road on Barry's saddle j range ; that tenders be invited for new | bridge, over Okute, Okute valley; for, forming road on bush flat lip *o boundary' of Akaroaand Wafnui district; also widen-; , ing culverts and reducing points on the' Main Chrlstchurch road througli the bush.
