STOCK AND STATIONS.

The unsettled state of the weather last week has been followed by bright warm days and cool nights, very favorable for stock, whilst the rain, though insufficient, has enabled the farmers to start their ploughs to better purpose. At Addington, on Wednesday, 6771 sheep,339 head of cattle, and 40 pigs were yarded for the week. Fat Sheep were brought forward in eicess of trade requirements, and a large fall in prices or heavy withdrawals would have resulted, but for the operations of one purchaser for West Coast requirements ; values were fairly maintained and a good clearance effected. Prices ruled very irregular. Best butchers' mutton made equal to lfd per lb, and for boiling down purposes Id to l^d. Fat Beef, an over supply, and extreme dulness characterized the sale, the trade being very disinclined to operate. Best beef made 25s per 1001b: inferior and medium, 21s to 235. Pigs in brisk demand at good rates; best porkers made 4d per lb ; inferior, 3d to 3£d. Store stock, slightly improved for fresh young bullocks. Those in backward condition still very dull of sale, and can only be got rid of at reduced rates. Store Sheep.—Fair enquiries for good lines of wethers for turnip?*, but none suitable offering.
