AKAROA HOSPITAL.
To the Editor of the Akaroa Mail
Sir, —I trust you will consider the following of sufficient importance for insertion in your valuable journal:— There are now five patients in this institution, and for three days last week, and four days this week we have had no medical attendance. Surely this could not be if there were a proper system of management. ■ " . ■:' < x Nothing can be done for any of us unless by the doctor's orders ; we must lay, and suffer until that gentleman's private .duties admit of his attending to us. The Governmeiit have erected, a costly building, nnd left it to the tender mercies of a married couple whose hands are tied, and a (doctor whose private practice precludes his attendance. \ ;'. : May I suggest to the County or Borough Council to apply to the Government to appoint a sub-committee of management, as some such appointment is urgently required. Yours, &c., A PATIENT. Akaroa Hospital, May 3, 1879. y
