STOCK AND STATIONS.

During the past week the weather has teen more favourable, both for tbe pastoral and agricultural interests, as we have had two days light rain, and sundry showers, sufficient to enable the farmerg in most places to start the plough. The pastures are also making a fine show, which is likely to continuo if they are not visited by heavy frost. The Clent Hills Station, consisting of about 45,000 acres of licensed country, well-fenced and with good improvements thereon, and 16,000 sheep of good ages, has been disposed of privately for £10,000 on satisfactory terras of payment. At Addington, on Wednesday last, 5760 sheep and lambs, 269 cattle, and 69 pigs were yarded for the week. Fat Sheep were in full supply of good useful quality, which were cleared at about last week's rates, boilers taking lines that were not quite up to butchers' quality. Fat cattle in fair supply with but little competition on the part of the trade, who would only operate for immediate requirements. Best beef made equal to.about 25s per lOOlbs; inferior and medium, 21s to 235. Pigs.—ln short supply, selling readily at from 3d to 4d. according to quality. Store Stock.—There are strong enquiries for young merino sheep, and good lines of cross-breds, the latter for turnips ; but there are few of either class in the market. Aged sheep are only saleable at nominal prices for boiling. There is no improvement in store cattle, which are entirely neglected, and only saleable at very low rates.
