INTERPROVINCIAL COMMERCIAL TELEGRAMS.
Wellington, Jan. 24. Flour—Adelaide, no stock, £16 and falling; Oamaru and Canterbury, £10 to £10 ss. Oats, 4s to 4s Id ; potatoes, 6s 6d to 7a ; maize, 4s 6d to 4s 9d. Hams and bacon, country cure, nominal 5d to 6d ; salt butter, 8d to 9d. Oamaru, Jan. 24.
There is nothing doing in the grain and breadstuffs market, and prices remain as before quoted. At the monthly wool sales there was very languid .competition. Prices were decidedly lower than at the previous sale, and the majority of the lots offered were passed in. The few lots sold realised :—6d, 7d, and 8d for crossbreds. For the skins, quotations are as follows :—Crossbreds, 4s to 4s 8d ; merino, ewe skins, inferior, Is 5d to Is lid ; fat, 2|d ; lambskins, is Id ; pelts 7|d. Invbbcargill, Jan. 24.
Consequent upon the railway opening transactions during the-week have been somewhat limited. Breadstuffs rule at last week's rates. Flour goes off at £10 to £11 for trade parcels. Oats have a downward tendency, and are now offering at 3s 6d to 3s 9d.
