Buckland reports—At Remuera on Monday Dairy cows were in better enquiry, and brought from £12 10s to £13 10s each ; best store cattle, except quiet cows in calf, were at lower values ; fat cattle were in limited numbers and better worth, the greater part brought 30s, and a few choice animals 33s the 1001b. Fat sheep of good quality were in steady enquiry ; wethers, 3d ; ewes from 2|d per lb.; 200 wethers ex Pretty Jane averaged 18s. Fat lambs were numerous, and choice sold freely at a slight advance on last week. Best animals, lis to 14s each; inferior from 4s. The sale of hides, skins, and wool on Tuesday was fully attended. Hides brought 2£d and 2£d per lb. ; tallow, 20s to 26s cwt.; pelts Id to ls; skins, 2s 6d to 3s 6d each ; wool, in grease, 6d to 7|d ; washed wools, 9£dto 10* d the lb. Timaru, Jan. 3. Oats are expected to open at 3s 2d to 3s 4d, and wheat at 3s lOd. Millers are making enquries, but no transactions are yet chronicled.
