COMMERCIAL.
Akaroa. Nov. 18th
"Mr C. W. Bridge held a sale of i-tock at the Head of the Bay yards, on Friday, 15th inst. The attendance was moderate. The prices realised were as follows :—The best yearlings sold from £3 to £3 10s; medium, £2 17s 6d. Steers—two year old, for a very superior special entry of Mr F. Lel'ievre, 28 head were divided, half sold at £5 7s 6d, the other half fetched £5 10s; inferior sold from £4 11s to £5 ss. Heifers--two year old brought £5 10s to £5 7s 6d ; three year old, from £4 17s 6d to £5. Store cows brought from £5 2s 6d to £5 5s ; one fat cow sold for £6 12s 6d, one good bullock three years brought £5 ss. There was no demand for dairy stock.
FROM THE LYTTELTON TIMES. Christchurch, Friday Evening. GRAIN AND PRODUCE.
Business during the week has not been marked by any improvement, and transactions have not been extensive. The continued dry weather is being severely felt in -some districts, and a downfall of rain for a short time is very much wanted.
Oats.—A few trifling transactions have taken place at 3s lid to 4s Id for feeding quality ; milling, at 4s 2d. The quotation f .0.b., is 4s 3d to 4s 4d.
Potatoes. —Small lots are being sold at last week's quotations. Fl om ..—We hear of little business; the enquiry being of the scantiest nature. Prices remain about the same, viz., £9 to £10.
Dairy Produce.—Butter is coming in freely, and prices are easier. Wβ quote 8d to 9d ; cheese is unaltered, hams and bacon 7£d to Bd.
