ROAD TO THE LIGHTHOUSE.
To the Editor of the Alcaroa Mail.
Sin, — Through the medium of your columns, I.ehonld like to call the attention of the Road Board to the urgent want of a better road in the above direction. The present track is simply a disgrace to the district, and when I look round and ace the splendid roads leading to all the other Bays, I think they must be an apathetic people living over that way, or they would have had a better road long ago. I noticed some time ago that a requisition was numerously signed and sent to the Road Board, who agreed to send their Engineer to report. I don't think each has been done yet. But it is time that it was taken in hand we Jiving to the eastward of Akaroa shonld have a member to represent us on the Road Board. As the nearest member resides at Robinson's Bay, and as none of the members have to travel that road they don't seem to care how rough it is for the likes of us. Hoping to see the worlc shortly taken in hand, I remain, Yours, &c, BUSHWHACKER.
