STOCK AND STATIONS.
During the Inst fortnight the country has been benefitted by intervening showers of rain, and in consequence the growth of feed throughout the province has been very great. At the Metropolitan Yards on Wednesday*. 8176 sbeep, and 286 head of cattle were yarded. There was a fair supply of fat sheep, for which description the biddings were brisk. Best quality realised 26s each ; good do from 17s to 225. Stores: Several lines were submitted, but there was a scarcity of buyers and, in consequence, several lines were passed in nnsold. Cattle—There was, comparatively speaking, a small supply of fat cattle brought forward. We quote from 37s 6d to 40s per lOOlbs as an average for fat beef. The store cattle yarded met with a dull Hale, and many lots had to be passed in unsold.
