CORN EXCHANGE REPORT.
The following is the report for the oreek ending Friday evening :— Rye Grass.—Very few enquiries fortius __ed during the week, and no alteration in price can be mentioned. Last week's rates, however, are maintained. Potatoes show a decidedly downward tendency; price cannot be quoted at over 65s per ton, bags included. , » Cheese and butter. —Strong enquiry for thi-. produce, but the supply is limited.
Messrs R. Wilkin and Co. report:— -•Wool—Some odd bales and bags were catalogued, and sold at prices ranging fioio ljd''to'.-Jd per ib. Sheepskins.— Owing to the damagg^fifcß^-to the railway -—■■■■' both no number of skins catalogued was very small, numbering .only 2070, all of which weie sold at good prices. only a moderate attendance of buyers, with fairly spirited biddings and even prices. Best clean, well saved, 2£d to 2£d per lb ; second quality, 2d to 2£d per lb ; inferior and heated If d to 2d per lb. Hides. — Although the - attendance of buyers was limited all lots were cleared as follows: —Lot I—Steers, 3|d per lb. Lot 2—-Cows, 3|d per lb. Lot 3—Special lino, 3|d per lb. Lot 4—Damaged, 2£d per lb, Lot 5— Calfskins, 4£d per lb.
