CORN EXCHANGE REPORT.
The following is the report for the iveek ending Friday evening :— . Oats.—For this cereal there have been a few inquiries, and business has been done up to 4s 2d for good milling samples, at less than which holders are unwilling to quit. Potatoes.—Market very dull, and lower rales are being submitted to. Price £3 10s per ton, exclusive of bags. Cheese and Butter.—None offering.
Messrs 11. Wilkin and Co. report:— Sheepskins.—At our sale on Thursday ■"407 skins were catalogued, and all sold. There was a full attendance of the trade, ami iiid'lingu were spirited throughout, with the following result: — Butchers' cross-'.>reds, large full-woolled, 7s, 7s 3d to 7s 4cl each ; do, do, three-fourths to full-T.-ooiied os lOd. Gs Gd to 7s each ; do do raecHum, two-thirds to three-fourths woolled, ss, 5s 5d to 5s 10d each ; do do do, half to two-thirds woolled, 4s, 4s 6d to 5s each ; do do small and inferior, 2s, 2s 9d to 4s each. Butchers' merinos, large and well-woolled, ss. 5s 6cl to 5s lid each; do do medium, two-thirds to three-fourths woolled, 3s Bd. 4s 4d to 5s each ; do do do. half to two-thirds woolled, 2s 10d ; 3s 3d to 3s Sd each ; do do, small and inferior 2s, 2s Gd to 2s 10d each. Country crossbreds. from 2s 6d to 6s 3d each; one special line went as high as 8s lid. Country merinos, 2s to 5s Gd each, Pelts from 2d to Is 3d each. Lambskins, 10d each. Tallow.—A very large quantity butchers' rough fat and some tins tallow catalogued, and all sold. There was the usual attendance of buyers, and prices were fairly even. Best clean, well saved, 2fd to 2§d per lb ; second quality, 2d to 2|d per lb ; inferior and heated, to 2d per lb. Hides.—There was only a limited number of buyers in this market. All lots, however, were cleared out at the following prices :—A special line of very large and heavy hides, 4d per lb. Lot 1, steers, 3Ad per lb ; lot % cows, 3id per lb ; lot 4, damaged, 3d per lb ; "lot 5, calfskins, 4-id per lb.
