COMMERCIAL.

Thursday, Sept. 16,

Mr C. W. Bridge held a sale of cattle at the Head of the Bay yards yesterday. 158 head were yarded, of which the greater part were sold. The following prices were realized :—Yearlings in good condition fetched £3 3s; inferior and medium, £2 2s 6d to £212s 6d ; two-year-old steers, £4 10s ; good cows, from £8 to £8 15s ; medium, from £6 to £8 ; heifers, springing to calf, superior, £7 2s 6d ; others from £5 5s to £6 10s ; working bullocks, £11 to £13. We have to note a great fall in the price of dairy stock, this class of cattle not realizing what owners had reason to expect.
