STOCK AND STATIONS.
Owing to the very severe frosts experienced of late, the farmers and stationholders are still inconvenienced by the great scarcity of feed. We have no doubt that the loss of stock of all descriptions will be very great throughout the country in consequence of the very severe winter, so much felt by graziers. During this week we have to report the sale of the Peel Forest estate, containing 6362 acres of freehold, 16,000 acres of leasehold, 1287 acres of reserve, together with 13,500 sheep, for the sum of £45,000. At the Addington Yards on Wednesday 5355 sheep, 463 head of cattle, and 42 pigs were yarded. Sheep.—The competition was dull, and with the exception of a few choice pens of Southdowns, which reached 19s, there was little or no improvement on our last week's quotations. Beep.—A large supply came to hand, for which we quote from good to prime quality from 35? to 37s 6d per lOOlbs, inferior do difficult to get rid of at 30s per lOOlbs. In Stores there was a slight improvement on last week's prices.
