CORN EXCHANGE REPORT.
The folloAving is the report for the week ending Friday evening:— Grass Seed.—Cocksfoot is still inquired for, and 7d to 7£d may bo quoted as its value. Potatoes. —For this article there is still a good demand, and high prices are ruling both for seed purposes and for consumption. We quote £4 10s to £5 per ton. Cheese and Butter.—The price of chelfe. has Blightly improved ; we quote s|d to 6d per lb. Butter according to quality, 7d to lOd per lb. Messrs R. Wilkin and Co report:— Wool—A feAv lots sold at from 8d to B£d per lb. Sheepskins —We only catalogued 3521 skins to-day, alj of which were sold at good prices. The following are the prices : —Butchers' crossbreds, large fullwoolled, 7s Id to 7s 3d each ; ditto ditto, medium three-fourths to full-wooiled, 6s 5d to 7s Id each ; ditto ditto ditto, tAvo-thirds to three-fourths Avoollcd, 5s lid to 6s 5d •each ditto ditto ditto, half to two-thirds woolled, 5s 3d to 5s lid each ; ditto ditto, small and inferior, 3s lid to os 3d each ; butchers' merino, large, arid fairly-Avoolled, 5s 2d to os 6d each ;. ditto ditto, medium, two-thirds to three-fourths Avoolled, 4s 9d to 5s 2d each; ditto ditto ditto, half .to two-thirds 2d to 4s 9d each ; ditto ditto, small and inferior, 2s 5d to 4s 2d each ; country cross-breds, from 2s to 5s 7d each ; ditto, merinos, from is 9d to 4s. 4d each, according to quality. Pelts large, and Avell saved, ls to is 9d each; ditto, small and inferior, Id to Is each. Tallow.- A large number of bags butchers' rough fat to hand. There was only a moderate attendance of buyers, Avith even prices, Best clean, well saved 2|d to 2|d per lb ; second quality, 2|d to 2fd per lb-; inferior and badiy saved, Ifd to lb, Tallow, 3d per lb, and 26s per cwt.— ; Hides.—Although there was only a poor attendance of buyers, all hides were sold as under -.—Lot 1, salted, per lb ; lot 2, salted, 4£d per lb; lot 3, fresh,.3_d., per lb ; lot 4, calfskins, 5d per lb. , '■>"■: j
