CORN EXCHANGE REPORT.
The following is the report for the week ending, Friday evening, June 21:—
Grass Seed.—There is little or no demand for rye grass seed. Small parcels of choice kinds are taken at 6s per bushel. "Medium to inferior are neglected, and rates nominal. Cocksfoot is not inquired for.
Potatoes.—During the week there has been a brisk demand. There are several export orders for the New Zealand ports unexecuted. The price paid to the formers is very firm at 50s per ton, with a very bare supply. Small export orders have been executed at £310s per ton f.o.b. Higher rates are expected to rule as- the season advances.
Cheese and Butter.—The demand for both these articles bas improved. Cheese is inquired for at s£d to 6d per lb. Firstclass potted butter is in request at 9d to lOdperlb.
