ROAD COMPENSATION.
To the Editor of the Akaroa,Mail.
■ Sir, —I observe in your paper that certain demands have been made by " Ratepayer "of the Akaroa and Wainui Boad Board, to publish the compensation awarded for road diversions in that district This appears a fair demand. I think also that the Pigeon Bay Road Board should publish the award given to Messrs Hay, for a road diversion in the bay. The sum awarded has been spoken of as enormous. Names of arbitrators and referees should be given. This will tend to throw a light on what hitherto has appeared difficult to understand.—-Yours, &c, PIGEON BAY.
