But it was hoped that as the "Clergyman's whole time would be engaged, within the town, or nearly so," that -'»•• greater interest in church matters would be developed. In accordance with, a request contained, in a. circular from the Chairman of th© Clergy Widows and Orphans Fund, it was resolved to set apart one Sunday's offertory in the year as a contribution toward the fund.

The Churchwardens reported that they had received £40 from the County ConncS for the Cemetery Fund, and that Mr Fenton had been instructed to survey the; boundaries of the Cemetery, and to put in the pegs, with a view to having it properly fenced. They also desired to call the attention of parkhoners who have not .paid their subscriptions to the Parochial Fund that the present month terminates this quarter,, and to request that amounts due be at, once paid.
