AKAROA AND WAINUI ROAD BOARD.

Saturday, May 11. Present — Messrs Piper (Chairman), Williams, Duxbury, Shadbolt, and Curry. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed, Mr Duxbury dissenting. correspondence. From the Treasury, Wellington, intimating that tbe sum of £147 7s 6d, being the share of the funds at credit of the County of Akaroa on March 31, 1878, had been transmitted to the credit of the district fund account of the Akaroa and Wainui Road Board. From the Little River Road Board, stating that their supervision of that part of the road from Barry's Bay Pass to Libeau's cottage Avill cease from date of their communication. Mr Duxbury proposed, seconded by Mr Williams, and carried—" That any reply to the above be delayed, and that the Chief Surveyor be applied to for a tracing showing Cridland's and Townsend's roads, and including from Barry's Pass to Reserve No. 3, with a vie ay to ascertaining the district boundary, all expense to be paid by the Board." From Mr Hawthorne, asking the Board to assist him in forming a track from the new Onuku road to his property. The Clerk was instructed to visit, and report. From the Engineer, declining the offer

of the Board in satisfaction of his account for the survey, plans, &c, of the Horseshoe Bend diversion. Wardle waited on the Board to ask what amount they would allow him for loss of time in opening and closing the fences through Mr Piper's paddocks, in order to get the drain pipes up to the Okain's Bay road diversion. Lines—Five months, at 7s 9d per yard, with beach metal; for spreading and breaking at £2 15s per chain. Everall and' Gunning—Three months, at 8s per yard for carting, breaking, and spreading, with Morgan's quarry metal. On the motion of Mr Williams, seconded by Mr Curry, the tender of G. Breitmeyer was accepted. ROAD BOARD OFFICES. M. Silver—Eight weeks, at £110. ■ E. W. Morey—Three months, at £93 10s. Reid and Co.—Eight weeks, £91. Mr Williams proposed, seconded by Mr Shadbolt, and carried, that Messrs Reid and Oo's tender be accepted. PAWSON'S VALLEY BBIDQE. Reid and Co.—Ten weeks, at £100 13s. Sigley and Dixon—Five weeks, at £90. W. Kearney—Four weeks, at £89 15s. Mr W. Kearney's tender was,accepted. SADDLER'S BRIDGE. Sigley and Dixon—One month, at £45. W. Kearney—Fourteen days, at £42.
