■FBOM THB LYTTELTON TIMES. Christchurch, Friday Evening. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Business during the week has been .characterised by excessive dulness. This feature has become so settled of late that •merchants and others almost despair of Anything occurring calculated to galvanise .a little life into operations. There is and .has been for some time a marked paucity of orders, and, further, buyers have considered the condition of the outside markets has not warranted the prices that have been given. Potatoes are in fair demand at 459. A trifle over this has been given for lots delivered at once. Grass Seeds are daily becoming in less inquiry. We quote cocksfoot, sjjd to 6d. Dairy Produce. —Both butter and cheese show no improvement. The demand at present is very slack. For the former we quote 7id to Bd, and for the latter 4f d to M.
