Southern flour sold by auction to-day realised £9 10s to £14 per ton ; potatoes, £3 4.H ; provincial hams, 6rJ-d to 7d ; butter, 6d to lid. Best steers, 26s per lOOlbs ; long-woolled ewes, 4s to Gs Gd'; wethers, 13s to 18s.
ENGLISH. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited), have received the following telegram from London, dated April 24 :— Wool.—Market unchanged. There has been a little private inquiry. The next sales will commence on May 14. The sales comprise about 300.000 bales. Tallow—Market fiat. ' Mutton 39s Gd per cwt ; beef. 38s per cwt.
