ONUKU ROAD.
To the Editor of the Akaroa Mail. Sir, —In your issue of the sth instant, I noticed in the minutes of the Akaroa and Wainui Road Board, re Vangioni and the Onuku road, that the Board declined to entertain my request. I was not surprised at them when I saw that Mr Glynan had been to interview the Board, and had plumply denied ever having stopped me from proceeding with the work. Now, Sir, allow me to prove what he denies, and to state that I have a letter in my possession that runs as follows : — " Akaroa, Feb. 25th, 1878. " Mr Vangioni. " Sir, —I understand that you have got the contract for benching the Onuku road. I need tell you that I will stop you or any one else to break soil on my land until I am properly settled with by the Road Board. " I remain, yours fathful, "John Glynan." Now, Sir, is it possible Mr Glynan could have forgotten the notice that he sent to me on Monday, the 25th February last. It may be possible, but if so, Mr Glynan must have a very short memory—and yet he was believed. —Yours, &c, J. VANGIONI.
