AUSTRALIA.
Melbourne, March 7
A sea serpent is reported to have been seen twelve miles north of Freemantle.
Statistics have been published, showing that the population of Victoria at the end of last year was 823,000, being an increase over previous year of 20,504. Males are slightly in excess of females.
