Distance, about 1 mile. RULES. The C. J. C. Rules strictly adhered to. No one allowed to enter a horse, unless a subscriber of one guinea to the race fund. Three horses to start, or no race. All horses starting must race the distance, or they will not be allowed to compete for the Consolation Stakes. The Akaroa County or District Races shall mean that horses are the bona fide property of owners three months previous to the races. Nominations for the Handicap close on the 13th February, at 8 p.m. Entrances close on the 21st February, at 8 p.m. All entries and colors, with money, to be sent in under cover, to the Secretary, Beach Arms, near Little River. Forming 70 chains (more or less) Gerken's road. 3. Forming 120 chains Port Levy road. 4. Re-forming about 15 chains Okute Valley road. 5. Blasting rock and widening about 38 chains of main road between Kaituna and Stony Point. 6. Raising portions of Lake Forsyth Main road. Also, Clearing about 70 chains of Bridle Track in Little River bush. Specifications at Forbes' store, Tai Tapu, Mr John Archer's, Little River, and at the office, Kaituna. AKAROA AND WAINUI ROAD BOARD, ""XT"OTICE is hereby given to all perJJN sons affected, that the said Board intend taking for the purpose of road diversion, at the Horseshoe Bend, all those pieces of land situate in Robinson's Bay, County of Akaroa, belonging to George Breitmeyer, farmer, of the same place, being parts of section 580, as described in the map of the Chief Surveyor of Canterbury, and containing by admeasurement 2 roods 22 perches, as , more particularly delineated on a plan deposited at the office of the said-Road Board, and which is open for inspection by all persons, at all reasonable hours. And notice is also hereby given, that all persons affected by the same, shall set forth in writing their objections to the execution of such work, or the taking of such lands within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, addressed to the Chairman of the said Road Board, in terms of clauses 21 and 22' of the " Public Works Act, 1876."
