AKAROA RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Tuesday, Feb. 5. (Before Justin Aylrner, Esq., K.M., and G. H. Saxton, Esq., J.P.; CATTLE TIIESPASS. Eofcert Bayley, for an offence of this nature, was fined 5s and costs. Civil Cases. H. Barnett v. F. Aldridge.—Mr Nalder for plaintiff. In this case the plaintiff sued the defendant for allowing one bull to be at large. Fined 40s and costs. Hewer v. Denny.—ln this case, which had been adjourned for the production of the plaintiff's books, judgment Avas given for the defendant with costs, the Bench expressing great suspicion as to the entries in the book produced. J. Eeid v. J. Wilson.—Claim £1, being the value of some timber alleged to have been taken by the defendant. After hearing the evidence, the Bench gave judgment for the defendant with costs. The Court then adjourned.
