The Akaroa Mail. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 14.
A telegraphic report comes from Wellington of a most extraordinary character. It is said that Sir George Grey, previous to the prorogation, advised the Governor to veto the Land Bill, but that His Excellency point blank refused to do so unconstitutional an act, seeing that the Bill was carried through Parliament by the Ministry, without a hint being given that they intended to prevent it becoming law. We are at a loss to account for this action on the part of Sir George Grey, but we much fear that this is the beginning of a serious complication of affairs, which may terminate in His Excellency dismissing his Ministers, and calling other advisers to his counsels.
