AKAROA RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Friday, Dec. 7. (Before His Worship the Mayor, H. H. Fenton, and G. H. Saxton, Esqs., J.'sP.) Civil Cases. c. bates v. l. perham. Mr Inwood for plaintiff. This case had been adjourned for the evidence of Mr Lane, of Christchurch, which was now read, as given above, in our report of the Christchcrch R. M. Court. The Bench gave judgment for the plaintiff, with costs, £31 195., but declined to allow any sum for damages caused l»y the illegal retention of the mar« by the defendant. L. PERHAM V. C. BATES. Mr Inwood for defendant. This was a cross-action, for the recovery of the progeny of the mare claimed by the plaintiff, and had been adjourned, pending judgment in the former case. The Bench returned judgment for the defendant, with costs, £4 JBs. (Mr Fenton here left the Bench.) J. DALY V. J. DRINKWATER. Claim for £10 2s 6d. Mr Nalder for plaintiff. Judgment by consent for amount claimed, with costs. SAME V. J. CURTIS. Claim, £28 2s Bd. Mr Nalder for plaintiff. Judgment by consent for amount claimed, with costs. SAME V. P. MAGUIRE. Claim, £3 lis lOd. Mr Nalder for plaintiff. Judgment by consent for amount claimed, with costs. SAME V. H. BURKE. Claim, £3 6s 3d. Mr Nalder for plaintiff. Judgment for amount claimed, with costs.
The Court then adjourned,
