AKAROA REGATTA COMMITTEE MEETING.
A meeting of the above was held at Bruce's Hotel, on the evening of the 4th instant. Present: —Messrs C- W. Bridge (chairman), St. John, Beecher, C. Barker, Lacoste, Black, Wood, and C. Watkins.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.
Proposed by Mr Beecher, seconded by Mr Black, ".That in the Dingy Race seven seconds be allowed per foot on keel."
A telegram was read from the Secretary of the Auckland Regatta, stating that yachts from 6 to 9 tons were allowed 30 seconds per ton. Mr Lacostu moved, seconded by Mr Black, " That 25 seconds be allowed per ton in the yacht race." The Secretary was instructed to have the amended rules, regulations, and courses printed as soon.as possible, also to advertise in the next issue of the Akaroa Mail that all subscriptions are required to be paid to the Secretary at once. It was proposed by Mr Beecher, seconded by Mr Black, "That Messrs Bridge, Lacoste, and Wood be appointed as a subcommittee, to lay the buoys, &c." A suggestion was also made tbat Mr C. A. Rich be asked to measure the Venture,
It was resolved to ask Mr J. H. Wood to act as time-keeper on the Regatta day; also, that Mr Fenton should be written to, requesting him to act as starter and judge. The meeting then adjourned to Tuesday evening, the 11th instant, at Wagstaff's Hotel.
