' Wellington, Nov. 2(5; ' The captain of the schooner Pelican, from Oamarn, was fined 2()s and costs this morning, in the R.- M. Court; for* overloading his vessel. Mr M'Kellar, Commissioner of Customs, did not press for the full penalty, as the offence was the first one of the kind. It is said that the authorities were apprised by telegraph of the vessel being overloaded, because immediately on her arrival the harbour-master went on board and inspected the vessel, and. afterwards testified to her being overloaded. ■
