CRICKET.

Akaroa C. C. v. Okain's C. C,

This match was played on Friday last, the 9th inst., on ground at German Bay, kindly lent for the day by W. G. Inman, Esq. The weather was all that could have been desired for cricketing purposes, but tbe ground was rather dry and lumpy, and not at all favourable for swift bowling. The Okain's team was captained by Mr J. Wells and the Akaroa Boys by Mr W. Hughes. The A.C.C. having won the toss, put their opponents in, and in an hour's time they were all disposed of for 43 runs. The A.C.C. then took the bat, but soon retired for 24 runs, little more than half the Okain's score. An adjournment to lunch then followed, after which the visitors again went to the wickets, and were all put out for 31 runs, leaving Akaroa exactly 50 to tie. The boys then went in, and, playing very steadily, reached 53, when the last wicket fell, amidst loud cheers from the spectators. The following is a detail of the scores:— OKAIN'S. First Innings —C.
