(From the Press Agency.) Napier, October 5. At an auction sale to-day 200 Union Insurance shares were sold at 9s. 75 at Bs. ; and a large number were withdrawn ■< at 10s. Kumara, October 5. Thomas Ryan was brought up charged with murdering Joseph Daniels '«■ March 10. Twenty witnesses are tolbe examined. The case is proceeding. Dunedin, October 5. The Vincent County Council h|ve reduced the salary of the Chairman from £400 to £250 a year. The Otago Guardian will be published for the last time to-morrow.
