The wool ships despatched from Lyttelton by the New Zealand Shipping Company for the season 1876-1877, had a total tonnage of 10,244 register, carried away 25,44G bales. Shaw SSavill and the Albion Co. despatched vessels aggregating 6682 tons register, and conveying 16,001 bales. Dunedin, August 29. An exchange of personalities in a leading street to-day, resulted in two gentlemen coming to blows, the result being that one of them, who is a medical man, was punched and rolled in the gutter. Wellington, August 29. An information for a criminal libel has been laid against George Jones, and he has been summoned to appear at the Resident Magistrate's Court on Monday. Judgment was pronounced this morning re the wreck of the Robina Dunlop under the Inquiry into Wrecks Act. The opinion of tho Court was that the vessel was lost through the culpable'neglect of the master in not paying greater attention to the navigation of the ship and not taking proper sounding!-. The chief officer was also blameable in not paying better attention to the course and distance made. The Court 1 here fore suspended the captain's certificate for two years, and held that the chk-f officer merited severe censure.
