Circassian immigration to Turkey is increasing. London, August 19. The Queensland mail was delivered on August 14, and the San Francisco on August 15. Sailed —Chimborazo on August 13 ; DurJiam, to-day. Bombay, August 19. The Russians advanced guard is skirmishing in the vicinity of Rutschuk. A Turkish official despatch says that a detachment from the garrison repulsed the Russians. A Turkish force has re-entered the Dobrudscha. The Russians are advancing against them. A Russian official despatch admits that the Russian reconnaissance was repulsed at Osman Bazar. Dervish Pasha has carried the advanced Russian positions at Batouia. London, August 19. The Russian cavalry regiments and 35,000 infantry with 110 guns, attacked Mukhtar Pasha's army yesterday, near Kars. The battle continued all day, and the Russians were compelled to fall back, with a loss of 1200. The Tnrks lost 100. The Russians have re-occupied Kustendji. London, August 19. At the opening of the wool sales competition was well maintained. Prices improve as the sales progress. The home trade are operating vigororously. 30,000 bales were sold. August 20. The Russians hold strongly to the Shipk a pass. Sulieman Pasha is making a reconnaissance near the Jenikoi pass, where the Russians are strongly entrenched. The Turks according to the Russian official despatch, have been repulsed. The Nile has been stationary for four days. Its level is 14 feet below the average for the past three years.
