BANK'S PENINSULA PASTORAL AND AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION.
This Body held a meeting at Barker's Hotel, Head of the Bay, last Tuesday, 18th inst., for the purpose ol: enrolling members and electing Office Bearers. There was only a small muster of those interested present. On the motion of Mr. Shadbolt, seconded by Mr. Knight, Mr. T. Dicken was called to the chair. Mr. Barwick, the Secretary, read the minutes of the last general meeting which were confirmed, and also the list of members who had paid their. subscription. It appeared from this list that 52 members had paid. A large number of new members were proposed and added to the roll of membership. Mr. W. Anderson stated that at last year's show, when the cheese were being judged, two Stewards, who were exhibitors, went round with the judges, and thus gave rise to complaint. Mr. Knight said that at shows In other parts of the country this was strictly guarded against, and he trusted it would not happen here again. Messrs. .Shadbolt and Bates expressed similar .opinions, and the matter was allowed to drop. The matter of a set of new rules for
regulating the business of the society was spoken of, But was postponed until a fuller meeting of members. The < election of Office Bearers was proceeded with. ■ Mr. Knight proposed that Mr. Buchanan be re-elected President. : ;; This was seconded by Mr. W. Wright, and cordially agreed to. Mr. Shadbolt proposed, and Mr. Knight seconded, that Mr. T. Dicken be re-elected Vice-President, which was also agreed to. Mr. Anderson moved, and Mr. C. Bates seconded, that Mr. J. Aylmer be re-elected Treasurer. Mr. W. Anderson proposed, and Mr. Knight seconded the re-election of Mr. J. Barwick, as Secretary. Mr. 0. W. Bridge proposed that the following gentlemen be elected a general committee for the ensuing year:—Messrs. B. Shadbolt, E. Priest, J. Marshall, E. C. Latter, W. McKay, J: McKay, A. C. Knight, 0. W. Bridge, J. Hay, H. Piper, and F. Williams. The proposal was seconded by Mr. B. Shadbolt, and carried. It was agreed on the suggestion of Mr. Bates, that the Committee be requested to bring up a copy of rules for the conduct of the business of the Association and submit the same for the approval of a meeting of members. It was agreed that the newly-elected committee meet on Tuesday, 3rd July, for the despatch of business. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the meeting.
