OPENING OF GOOD TEMPLAR'S LODGE AT LE BONS BAY'

[communicated.]

A new lodge of Good Templars was opened on Monday evening last, at Le Bon's Bay,by D.D.G.W.O.T. Bro. Clements, assisted by Bros, from .the Akaroa Hope Lodge, when a sufficient number of the youths of the Bay were initiated, and installed into office, and then opened their own Lodge, each officer taking his place, and really commenced proceedings which called forth applause from the visiting brethren, and from the hearty manner each went into their work, evidently will create a Lodge that none of them need be ashamed of, and must ensure success. The name of the Lodge is called Le Bon's Bay Endeavour, and will be of great use in the Bay by giving the members an opportunity to learn how to bring forward anything that will be of use to the order, in a way that will be of benefit to them to speak in public, setting aside the good it must do in creating a principle of friendship between, them which will not be easily erased, and must be of great benefit to the locality, to preserve the youth from vices, without the principles of Good Templarism they must evidently fall into. I hope that they will meet with success, which they deserve. The opening of the Lodge was brought about by the influence of Bros. Morey and Ginders. Bro. Morey gave them a lecture upon the principles of Oood Templarism and invited them to band themselves together and open a Lodge. Bro. Ginders wliowas present, immediately commenced

canvassing to get sufficient names to open a Lodge, in which he was successful, thinking nothing too much to do to meet the end. Both Bros, were cordially thanked for their kindness and exertions, likewise the D.D. Bio. Clements. The visiting Bros, had a vote of thanks passed to them. The evening was passed pleasantly and they separated as a new community.
