THE EUROPEAN WAR.
[By Submarine-Cable.] Singapore, May 7. England has annexed the Transvaal Republic. The Russians were twice repulsed at Kars with a heavy loss, and compelled to fall back. The British ironclad squadron at Corfu has been ordered to rendezvous at Crete London, May 7. Lord Derby's despatch repudiates the arguments in Gortschakoff's circular, and declares that the Czar violates the treaties of 1856 and 1861, that he separates from the concert of the Powers* and departs from the rule to which he himself consented, and that since Russia assumes to act in the interest of the other Powers, England declares that she cannot concur in, or approve of the decision of Russia. Russia declines to reply.
