ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.

[We are at all times ready to give expression to every shade of opinion, but in no case do wo hold ourselves responsible for the sentiments of our correspondents.]

TO THB EDITOR OF THE AKAROA MAIL. Sir, —Knowing that your columns are always open for the rectification of any abuse and for the purpose of exposing imposition, I wish to state my experience of the reception accorded me by Akaroa publicans. On Wednesday evening last I went to meet a friend expected by the s.s. Wellington. Upon my way home I called at an hotel for a glass, it being a very cold night. Champagne was flying around, and finding it was getting towards the small hours I proposed staying for the night. The manager thereupon shewed me into a bed room, (alias the dead-house), to which I objected. Under threats from the manager I left the house, and was followed into the street. Tableau, your humble servant knocked down by the family, and actually having hispace kicked' to pieces, his watch torn from him, and a messenger despatched for the police to lock him up.—Yours, &c, VIATOR.
