Turkey's answer to the Russian manifesto is that the attack of Russia is unprovoked. She appeals to the treaty of 1856, and the mediation of European Powers. Russia is pouring troops into Roumania. Many have already arrived at Galatz. The Cossacks are marching on Kalafat. The Turks occupying Roumania have withdrawn to the interior. \ '■ _ ' Prince Nitka, of Montenegro 1 , .is marching towards the frontier. " ,','.'-:_ The Turks are advancinguponNicsicSeventeen thousand Russians crossed the Turkish frontier, and a large force are on the way towards the Danube. There is a universal desire that England should remain neutral. Paris papers do not consider Moltke's speech as hostile to France.
