BLUE BLOOD.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE AKAROA MAIL. Sir, —I was very much amused at the perusal of a letter signed " Blue Blood," contained in the columns of your last paper ; amused I mean at the very high tone " Blue Blood" fancies he takes, in speaking of the " Sundowner" as a " common person." I suppose by that " Blue Blood" intends it to be understood that he belongs to the uncommon order of society ; for the good of society at large, it is to be hoped so ; for, placing the two productions together, I must say, any impartial judge would find the comparison very much in favour of that " common person," the " Sundowner." It is a sad pity that such very " refined"(?) circles of society, as " Blue Blood" has evidently moved in, did not teach him to express his ideas a little better ; as he concludes his letter with the statements, that if the old, laio of the greater the truth, the greater the libel, had not been repealed, the Akaroa Mail would have been liable for heavy damages, thereby admitting, that the "Sundowner's" remarks, although libellous, were true. —I am, &c., QUIZ. Akaroa, April 10th.
