AKAROA RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Tuesday, March 20, 1877. (Before Justin Aylmer, Esq., R.M.)

SATJLO V. LAMBERT. This was an action, to recover the sum of £1 for a sting-ray alleged to have been purchased by defendant, judgment in which was reserved last Court day. The Bench dismissed the case, remarking that it was evident that Lambert had purchased the fish on the Understanding that theie had been no telegraphing between Saulo and Dr. Haast. There was an evident attempt on the part of Saulo to " take in' , Lambert. Mr. Lambert applied to the Court for expenses, on the ground that he was necessitated to employ a man to take charge of his boat. " "** The application was refused. The costs of the Court, amounting to 9s. were allowed. ADAMS V. STUART. To recover the sum of £2. Judgment by consent, with costs of Court. MANN AND ANOTHER V. R. M. lAYIOR. This was an application to have defendant's evidence taken in Akaroa. The depositions of plaintiff not having arrived from Timaru, this case was postponed. The Court then adjourned.
