CRICKET.

[communicated.] . The return match between the Eastern and Western sides of the harbour took place on Saturday last, resulting in a victory for the Eastern side. Luncheon on this occasion was provided by the Akaroa. Eleven and was tastefully laid out. The Rev. Mr. Lingard, who kindly acted as umpire, occupying the chair left vacant by the conspicuous absence of the captain of the Western team, who quietly strolled off to his private residence, leaving his visitors to look after themselves, and making his re-appearance on the field late in the afternoon, some time after the game was commenced, without offering the slightest apology for his uncourteous behaviour. As each side has scored a win, the conquering match will be played to-morrow, and it is to be hoped that Mr. Baker will not be guilty of a repetition of his ungentlemanly conduct towards his visitors and fellow cricketers.
