PIGEON BAY ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday last. Present —Messrs Gillespie (Chairman), Hay, Marshall, McKay, and Pitcaithly. CORRESPONDENCE. From Treasury, Wellington, requesting name of Bill, in order that subsidies and other moneys payable to the Board may be paid. The Chairman was instructed to answer that the Board's account is kept at the Bank of New Zealand, Lyttelton. From Mr. Salter, Chairman of County Council, asking the amount of rates actually paid for the year ending March 31st, 1877. MAIN road. Mr. McKay drew the Board's attention to the bad state of the road recently metalled through the number of large loose stones upon it. On the motion of Mr. Hay, it was agreed that the Chairman engage two men at •once to break them. tenders. The following tenders were received for metalling and blinding main road from termination of last contract to Mr. Gillespies.— ' R. Stewart, 4s lOd per yard metalling, and 20s per chain blinding ; J. Lines, 4s 8d per yard metalling, and 20s per chain blinding ; Gunney aud Co., 5s per yard metalling, and 10s per chain blinding. The tender of Gunney and Co. was accepted. ACCOUNTS. The following accounts were passed :— W.Archer ... ... ... £2 2 0 Press ... 1 16 0 The Board then adjourned.
