PIGEON BAY ROAD BOARD.

Present—Messrs. Gillespie (Chairman), Hay, Pitcaithly, Marshall, and G. M'Kay. Correspondence was read from Secretary of Public Works, informing Board that a voucher for £340 7s, being amount of balance of the vote, was read and passed for payment. Also a voucher for £400, being balance of Provincial Road Board Grant, had been forwarded for payment. After the accounts of the year had been read, the Chairman stated that the balance in hand was £495 8s Id, and that vouchers for £740 7s having been passed for payment would make it £1235 15s Id. Mr. Pitcaithly moved, and Mr. Hay seconded, " That the accounts be passed."

The Board then proceeded to elect three persons in the place of Messrs. Gillespie, Hay, and Pitcaithly,who retire by rotation. The following persons were nominated : — Mr. E. Goodwin, proposed by Mr. M'Kay, seconded by Mr. Priest; Mr. J. Hay, proposed by Mr. Gillespie, seconded by Mr. M'Kay, Mr. Gillespie, proposed by Mr. Pitcaithly, seconded by Mr. Hay; Mr. Pitcaithly, proposed by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Priest. A poll being taken they stood as follows:— • . Mr. Gillespie ... ... 21 " Hay 21 " Pitcaithly ... ... 17 „ Gordon ... ... 17 The returning officer, Mr. Gates, giving the casting vote in favour of Mr. Pitcaithly. The first three gentlemen were duly elected. The Board then met to elect a chairman. Upon Mr. Hay's proposal, seconded by Mr. Pitcaithly, Mr. Gillespie was elected
